Domus Academy Milano

Starting its activity in 1982 as one of the first post-graduate design schools in Italy, Domus Academy was conceived as an open and interdisciplinary environment to work on visionary projects with avant-garde companies. Domus Academy developed as a visionary school of design research and experience, aiming to support next-generation designers to change the future. Domus Academy is a talent incubator and a springboard to interdisciplinary adventures. It encourages students to work in a cross-disciplinary way and apply the school’s learning by designing methodology to combine a meticulous, rigorous and robust approach with their creative vision. The academic offering consists of 11 Academic Master’s Programmes recognized by MUR (Italian Ministry of University and Research) covering four main areas: Design, Fashion, Experience and Business. From September 2021, the educational opportunities expanded with the Double Award Master allowing students to receive a Master of Arts with British accreditation too. Answering to the rising trends and market needs, Domus Academy has just launched 2-Year Master of Arts Programmes: MA in Design Innovation and MA in Fashion: Design, Art & Technology.

Students have the chance to collaborate with some of the most cutting-edge brands in fashion, product design, interaction design, luxury goods, and more. In workshops, internships, and field experiences, students work directly with companies to address the most contemporary design challenges in fresh and original ways. Domus Academy enables its students to make connections to accelerate their career, being inspired by collaborative projects and develop skills and talents in a self-directed way. Currently, more than 50 nationalities are represented in Domus Academy and 93% of the students are International. A multicultural community offers the best environment to exchange ideas and enrich the knowledge of design; keeping an open mind help students see and explore a diversity of options, inspirations and concepts with a global perspective. Over the years, Domus Academy has received numerous awards and recognitions including the Compasso d'Oro Award for the quality of research and academic approach and the Special Badge of Excellence in Learning Experience from The Business of Fashion.
